Short Bio

I currently work with AWS Aurora group out of East Palo Alto on building large-scale, highly available OLTP databases. My charter is to improve the performance of Aurora, tackling problems such as speeding up query processing, purging (garbage collection), and how Aurora compute nodes communicate with storage nodes.

I was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin Madison, advised by Prof. Aditya Akella and Prof. Shivaram Venkataraman, where I primarily worked on systems for machine learning and serverless computing (see publications).

I am however broadly interested in all things systems, especially in designing systems to support emerging workloads (ML, Serverless) and exploiting emerging hardware (RDMA, GPUs, NVMe).

Note: Aurora (and AWS in general) is hiring for several full-time and internship positions. Let's chat if there may be be opportunities that interest you!
